I fell in love with the border collie breed, long ago, when I was a kid and our border cross, Shadow, was an excellent farmhand on our family dairy farm here in Wisconsin. I have since married and now own the beautiful farm I grew up on. We currently operate a small family run dairy goat operation. The milk we produce is sold to Montchevre and converted into goat cheese.
We began breeding border collies in 2002 and allowed our female, Sam, to have 3 litters before we retired her from breeding. She and our male, Shotgun, were free to live out happy working lives on our family farm. Recently our beloved Sam (2000-2015) and Shotgun (2001-2014) have crossed the rainbow bridge. Ceri and Jep are now our resident dogs and are learning their farm duties. Our dogs have our entire property to romp on. Our family's main focus is our dairy goat farm where our resident border collies help us with farm duties.
During daylight our border collies are free to explore 80 acres of land including a hay field, wooded trails, and a river. They spend their nights inside our warm home with the rest of our family. We are not interested in accumulating multiple border collies for the sole purpose of breeding. It is our belief that our dogs are a part of the family and are treated as such. We value quality time with our dogs with individual attention. Therefore, we selected a pair that fit our needs on the farm and when bred would produced well balanced pups in terms of intelligence, focus, speed, demeanor, and herding instinct. Our pups will be ready for any task you place them on.
